This has the same energy as when people say they don't think pop music is good because it's liked by the masses. It's okay for something to be enjoyed, and even understood, by many people. Sure, there are a lot of probably-arguably-shitty books that are popular for some reason, but as a general rule? I don't think so. I've worked at a bookstore for a while now and that doesn't seem to be the case with a lot of book that fly off our shelves.
