Hi Sydney,

I am curious what denomination you are and what your definition of a conservative Christian is. I consider a conservative Christian someone who is right-leaning and likely fundamentalist, who interprets the Bible literally and as law. I made it clear that I was not “lumping” liberal or more progressive Christians in with conservative Christianity.

It seems as though you felt attacked by my message in this piece. I am curious why you feel that way because I tried to emphasize that Christians who have beliefs like yours and are science minded are really not a big part of the problem. It’s those trying to enforce and old fashioned and traditional view of women who are perpetuating the problem.

I encourage you to read my recent piece “Why Christianity Needs Feminism”, I think you will find it not as accusatory.
